Testing Metabolic System - 1-Mile Run
Purpose:
This test can be used to determine one’s cardiorespiratory endurance. This assessment only requires a measure distance such as a mile, a stopwatch and optional heart rate monitors.
Procedure:
- During this assessment the athlete is just asked to run a mile in the best time they can. At the end of the mile their time, heart rate and 1-minute active heart rate recovery (walking) are recorded.
- Their time should improve when reassessed.
